West Dunbartonshire - Community Budgeting in November

As part of the "Your Community" initiative, there is £25,000 available for projects in local communities to improve neighbourhoods.

The majority of the funding is for capital projects, this includes equipment, improvements to community facilities and local areas. There is also up to £3,500 available for each area following a council decision to fund other activities also of benefit to local communities.

The first round of applications was open during October 2016. 85 applications were received from groups across West Dunbartonshire. Of these 74 will go forward for residents to vote for the projects they want to see taken forward in their area. Any unsuccessful applications are being advised of possible other routes to secure funding.

Local groups applied for funding for a wide range of ideas and projects including community gardens, equipment for sporting activities, new groups starting up and improving community facilities, community events and educational trips. The majority of groups who applied are being invited along to community voting events for local residents to decide on which projects are funded.

There have been six voting events so far, with two more planned:

Kilmaronock

Old Kilpatrick, Dalmuir & Mountblow, Bowling & Milton

  • 29th November, 6.30 - 8.30
  • Gavinburn Primary School
